Integrative Nutrition & Herbal Medicine

Meet Tara

I strongly believe that the body has the ability to heal itself through whole foods, herbal medicine, movement, mindfulness, and other health modalities.

Licensed Nutritionist, Clinical Herbalist, Educator, Plant Lover & Research Nerd

Nutrition and herbal medicine have always been a large part of my life. My passion for health was instilled in me at an early age. I credit this to growing up in a large immigrant-Italian family, who would often use natural healing remedies and ate mostly a whole foods based diet.

For the past ten years, I have been studying and practicing nutrition and herbal medicine in the field of women’s health.

My training and credentials include:

  • Master of Science, Clinical Nutrition and Herbal Medicine, Maryland University of Integrative Health
  • Board-Certified Nutrition Specialist® (CNS), credentialed by the American Nutrition Association® through its Board for Certification of Nutrition Specialists™. The CNS credential is the gold standard of professional certification for advanced nutrition professionals seeking licensure.
  • Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist (LDN), by the states of Massachusetts and Florida
  • Advanced Training and Continuing Education:
    • American Nutrition Association
    • Gaia Professional Solutions
    • American Herbalist Guild
    • Dr. Camille Freeman, DCN, RH (AHG), CNS, LDN
    • United Plant Savers
    • The Institute of Functional Medicine
  • Certified Holistic Health Coach, Institute for Integrative Nutrition
  • Trained Birth Doula, family focused support in all aspects of pregnancy, labor, and postpartum.
  • Certified ServSafe® Food Protection Manager
  • Bachelor of Science, Psychology and Mental Health

In my practice, Full Bellies Nutrition, I work with clients exclusively online. My practice offers nutrition and herbal counseling services, specializing in women’s health, preconception, pregnancy, and postpartum. My goal is to help you have a happy and healthy pregnancy and postpartum period.

In addition to my love for nutrition and herbs, education has been a long-time passion of mine. I am an Adjunct Faculty Instructor for the Graduate School of Nutrition at Sonoran University of Health Sciences teaching the Lifecycle Nutrition course for preconception through childhood, as well as assisting in other nutrition and botanical courses.

Being in the field of health, it is essential to keep up to date with research – and it is something I enjoy doing. I am also a herbal researcher and writer at The Botanical Institute, which is an online evidence-based resource for herbs and botanical medicine.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, son, and dog, being in the great outdoors, traveling, cooking family recipes, herbal medicine making, and tending to my garden and many house plants.
